    GRADE 8 BOLTS !!!..Next time you hit somethig you could ripe the whole shaft apart?,,That's why they're called SHEAR PINS,,,Also you were using a Nye-Loc nut. Not a lock washer

      Get a nail, or something smaller than the diameter of the shear pin and spin auger until it’s lined up and use nail to push it out.

    My impeller shear pin is off, but my impeller doesn’t move free from the shaft like yours does on 0:50. The whole thing acts like impeller pin is in place, but it isn’t. What could that indicate?

    If one of these bolts broke could it ever end up behind that wall as a bolt was found when I upended the snowblower and took that back plate off sitting right there below a belt ?

  • @pchevelle9653
    @pchevelle9653 9 місяців тому

    Please don't do as this guy is doing! You NEVER replace sheer pins with bolts! If you do and the need come to play that ice jams the auger or impeller those bolts will NOT break and it will destroy the auger shafts and the impeller! All ways use sheer bolts not anything else!

    You have to see the curve, the bottom of were tree btanches start. You have to be able to see the bottom half of a stop or speed sign. Why because people like to walk on the roads and if you pay attention human are also as tall as a traffic sign. You don't want to hit or kill someone. Also, you can factory calibrate your heigh but thatbdoes not matter because SUVs and trucks sits higher than cars this every SUV is blinding everyone and you can't blind them because you car sits lower.

    Hi Andrew. This is very helpful, thanks for doing it. One question I have, Why not just turn off the electricity to the storage tank by pulling out the power cord? Won't this stop the thermostat telling the boiler to start working? Thanks

    Highly suggest an aluminum cover. The bolt holes on steel are usually bent in which doesn't give enough crushing force on the gasket between holes and you get leaks. a 1/4" flange with aluminum will guarantee a leak free seal with just a paper gasket.

    There's no perfect tool for all conditions. My experience with that chain system has been very good especially for smaller things that a regular chain can't get a good bite on.

    Well I watched your video and I'm happy that I found it bc I have the Autotrol that has the days marked on as opposed to the numbers that you have. So now I know that the one pushed in is when the softner will do its thing. My water softner company went out of business bc of covid. The father of the company was the one who put it in. The daughter took over after he passed and when she got the shot she got really sick and couldn't function. I never talked to her after that but I hope she made out ok. It's been difficult trying to figure this system out but thank God for you tube. So I believe that I've got it correct as to when the system regenerates. For my system it's on Saturday and the other days the pins are out and Saturday is pushed in. Sorry for the long winded post but thank you. Now I need to find a reputable plumber to service it.

    Wow - so glad I watched this. I have a Santa Fe but I could find nothing from QuadraFire to show how to take the auger out. Two screws on a Santa Fe, not one but when I removed it, lo and behold a large chunk of wood that some idiot had tossed in the hopper. Testament to the auger that it had managed to draw it pretty far up the tube. But now the wood is gone and the stove is workign again. Without a call out! Thank you
